Office of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) recently announced the result of Inventor Awards in 2007 and held the award ceremony for more than 25 qualifiers at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, Bangkok. National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) grabbed four Honorable Mentions in three research categories. Dr.Pakamas Sae Wong won the award in Physical and Mathematic Science category for her "Ceramic ware made from used material" project. Sh developed the used material to amazingly become a value-added product. Dr.Wanida Chanwikul's "Haemostat for wound treatment" won the award in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science category. She developed her invention from Chitosan by recycling natural used product. Her method would help boost up domestic Chitin/Chitosan production. MTEC received two Honorable Mentions in Engineering and Industrial Research category. Dr.Kuljira Suchirote’s "Reaction Bonded Silicon Nitride of Injector Mould for Using in High Temperature" is the result from the study of the change of injector, which is the main equipment in steam turbine powerhouse. Last but not least, Professor Dr.Pramote Decha-Amphai won the award from his "Finite Element Research and Development along with software for education and engineering design". All of this success is an inspiration to boost up the invention and to publicize the Thai inventors' invention to be recognized as the tools for technology development, which will later give the impact to the country's economic and social development. |
