“NEDO Workshop on Glycerin Purification from Biodiesel By-Product”

With the on-going collaboration on biodiesel research among National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC),  Thaland Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan, since 2005, MTEC and TISTR has foreseen this opportunity to explore established Japanese technology for glycerin purification for the benefit of Thai biodiesel industry.  MTEC and TISTR has teamed up with AIST and its partner, Kimura Chemical Plant Company (KCPC), to demonstrate the technical feasibility of KCPC glycerin purification technology with glycerin from typical biodiesel process in Thailand.

 Objectives

• To demonstrate technical feasibility of Japanese glycerin purification technology in Thai biodiesel industry

• To explore possible partnership between Japanese and Thai companies

• To foster future R&D collaboration between Japan and Thailand regarding biodiesel topic
