MTEC serves the research community as a metal and materials and metal and materials-related research center, networking resource and facilitator of education and outreach. Major research activities include providing mentoring and collaborative research opportunities, technology transfer, providing research facilities, applications, and scientific tools, and coordinating large, multi-institutional projects.
