National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) was of gratefulness to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her gracious kindness to preside over the opening ceremony of NSTDA Annual Conference 2018: NAC2018. Under the theme of Targeted R&D: Tackling Thailand Challenges, the conference features on research and development of NSTDA and alliances in response to the country’s STI policy development focusing on 5 target industries.
 
 
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn delivered an inauguration speech of the event and proceeded to visit the exhibition highlighted research and activities of NSTDA and its 5 target industry alliances.
 
 “This year’s conference consists of many interesting seminars on more than 40 topics. Experts on business development are also available for industrial sectors to consult with. The consultation service helps improve the quality of products and services deriving from scientific and technological development. This chance creates business opportunity for local entrepreneurs, or even raises their competitiveness”, said by Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul, MTEC Executive Director.
 
At the annual conference, MTEC showcased its highlights which included:
1. Human-centered innovation for elderly
2. Customized insole
3. Raising Standards to Boost Competitiveness of Thailand's Rubber Industry
4. Smart Grid National Pilot Project in Mae Hong Son Province
5. Industry Transformation Center (ITC)
 
 
The event also included NSTDA laboratory visit, science campus for children, S&T job fair and innovative local products. NAC2018 was held during April 9-13, 2018 at Thailand Science Park, Pathumthani.
