Asian Conference on Thermal Analysis and Applications 2009 (ASTA 2009)
TA-Practical Pathway to Quality and Sustainable Industries
17-18 December 2009
Organized by National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC)
Supported by Mettler Toledo (Thailand) Venue : Bangkok, Thailand (Conference Venue will be announced.)
Introduction
Thermal analysis includes a number of well-known versatile techniques for materials characterization such as DSC, DTA, TGA, DMTA, TMA, TCA, Dilatometry, etc. Each of these techniques provides information that can further our understanding of changes in the structure and behaviour of materials under controlled heating or cooling conditions. Such understanding can lead to the optimization of processing and properties of materials and end-products in a wide range of applications such as food, agriculture, pharmaceutical, medical, packaging, automotive and energy.
This conference will cover the key aspects of thermal analysis to include theory, instrumentation, methods, characterization of various important materials, and will also focus on practical uses and applications. It is hoped that this conference will serve as a forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and technologists from both academia and industries to exchange knowledge and experiences across the whole field of thermal analysis.
Participants from universities, research organizations, and all industrial sectors are cordially invited to attend the first TA conference in Thailand, and to help create practical pathways to improved or innovative products and processes for quality and sustainability.
Scope for Technical Program
Preliminary Conference Schedule
Presentation
Oral presentation will be 25 minutes including questions and answers. Poster presentation will be held in a separate session at the conference.
Language
The Official language will be English.
Call for Papers Researchers and engineers working in the field of thermal analysis and its applications are invited to submit an abstract(s) for oral or poster presentations. The abstract must be written in English and should be approximately 300 words in length. Reviewed abstracts will be selected to be either oral or poster presentation by the Technical committee. Abstract selection criteria are based on originality, scientific quality, technical merits, etc. For full instructions on abstract and manuscript submission please visit the Asian Conference on Thermal Analysis and Applications 2009 website at www.mtec.or.th/asta2009
