The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) is a research institute with its missions conforming to the 6th National Science and Technology Development Agency’s Strategic Plan (2017-2021) that links to the National Strategy and National Plans, especially, the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model). MTEC utilizes its strength in materials science and engineering design as a basis for conducting research and development and fostering innovation. The research goals and its key features are precisely identified, incorporating stakeholder inputs, so that they will not only respond to the needs of users but also lead to enhanced competitiveness, sustainable production, and good quality of life.

MTEC focuses on conducting research and development and fostering innovation with academic excellence and practicality, thus creating sustainable positive impacts on society and economy. The technology and research S-curves is used as a tool for planning and managing research to bring about the Output- Outcome-Impact coherence in five Domains of Utilization, namely, Manufacturing and Engineering Services Industry, Safety and Quality of Life, Health and Wellness, Agro-based Industry, and Agriculture.
