Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Policy

The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) is a government agency that conducts and supports research & development and engineering technology in metals and materials. In performing this work it is important to provide a safe working environment and hygienic conditions for all our staff together with social responsibility commitment for prevention of contamination to the environment that more than satisfies standard requirements. Therefore, Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management System (OHS&EMS) is very important for operation of the organization. The policies have been set out as follows.

(1) To develop and create an OHS&E MS that complies with applicable legal and other requirements and with international standard.

(2) The staff should have their own responsibility to perform their work properly and safely for control and prevention of hazards, injury, ill health and disease from such work, including the impact on the environment.

(3) To support the use of natural resources and energy efficiency including a commitment to improve health and prevent illness from working conditions. To prevention pollution arising from activities with resource allocation to perform continual improvement.

(4) To communicate to the staff knowledge, awareness and a positive attitude, and to encourage all staff to participate in Occupational health, safety and environmental activities so that all can work safely together with responsibility to society and the environment. We will also publish information relating to Occupational health, safety and environmental matters for all staff, including those activities that involve the public and other interested parties.

MTEC will drive and support the activities that will implement and achieve the policy consistently. Please be aware of this policy which is effective from now on.
