The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) had conducted the “Para Grip Gloves” activity in the National Science and Technology Fair 2019 by inviting children to paint the latex color on the gardening gloves, making the gloves stickier, less slippery and easily to grip. The theme of the Fair is “Science, Technology and Innovation: Inspiring Creativity for Better Living and Sustainability for Nation”.This event was held during August 16-25, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Impact Exhibition and Convention Center (Hall 6-12), Muang Thong Thani.

The concentrated latex is produced by bringing the fresh latex through the centrifugation process, thereby reducing the water content in the latex. The process produces the concentrated latex with 60% DRC which is an important raw material for producing various products such as rubber gloves, rubber pacifiers, rubber brands, condoms and glues.

The concentrated latex is mixed with additives and dyes, and then coated on the gloves in order to add more features to the gloves such as helping handling things easily and preventing hands from being stabbed by sharp objects. The Para Grip gloves are also stickier, softer and more comfortable to wear compared to the regular gloves. The Innovative Rubber Manufacturing Research Team of MTEC was in charge of this activity and there are many children participating with great interest.
