Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul , Director of The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), NSTDA, The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) joint with Chulalongkorn University, led by Assoc.Prof.Dr.Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dr. Surat Kwanmuang and Asst.Prof.Dr.Witaya Wannasuphoprasit to open the ceremony of the 9th of the Robot Design Contest 2016, during 5-25 July, at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.  This competition is to encourage Thai youths to develop their skills and talents on designing and developing robot mechanics and to search for local representatives to join international robot contest IDC Robocon 2016 that Thailand will host countries for the first time.  For RDC 2016 competition, the number of Thai students participate in the contest with a total of 72 from 22 institutes throughout the country.  The aim of the competition is help to promote and develop project at the regional level also teaches the students to work together as a team.  In addition, this event is a great opportunity for students to develop their abilities to strengthen, technology knowledge and applied engineering.  It is also important to prepare the mechanism to the technological development of Thailand, robots and automated systems that are important to developing countries in the industrial and manufacturing services for the future.  
 
 
In 2016, Thailand is honored to host the International Design Contest (IDC) - the IDC Robocon 2016 event will be held for the first time in Thailand in August.  This global robotics competition will gather students with different nationalities and cultures to come together to bond over a shared passion for robotics, and scientific and technological knowledge to improve the world.
