National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) by Medical Product Innovation Research Team organized a special seminar titled \u201cMedical Device Technologies Provide Added Value in Patient Care and in Economic Development.\u201d Prof. Dr. Ir. The highlight of the seminar was focusing on the critical role of biomedical engineering in shaping the future of healthcare, from enhancing diagnostic precision to driving cutting-edge treatment solutions. The case studies from KU Leuven illustrate how academic research can be successfully translated into real-world applications, bridging the gap between laboratory innovation and impactful solutions in industry and clinical settings.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The seminar also emphasized the broader significance of medical device development\u2014not only in improving patient care but also in driving economic growth, opening new business opportunities, and boosting global competitiveness.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In addition, the importance of specialized education in biomedical engineering was underscored as a key factor in cultivating the next generation of innovators and ensuring the long-term advancement of medical technologies.
