On September 30, 2025, as part of NSTDA’s participation in the Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX2025) at Hall 2, Better Me Zone, Associate Professor Toemsak Srikhirin, Director of MTEC, together with Dr. Sitthisuntorn Supothina, Deputy Director of MTEC, visited the exhibition booth highlighting groundbreaking innovations in health and elderly safety. During the event, MTEC-NSTDA unveiled four major innovations designed to enhance confidence among older adults while alleviating the responsibilities of caregivers, as detailed below.
- Gunther IMU: A compact, wearable motion-sensing device developed to integrate seamlessly with the Janine application, enhancing safety in the daily routines of older adults. The system issues vibration alerts when abnormal movements. For example, the hunched posture is detected and automatically transmits emergency notifications to caregivers in the event of a fall.
- Rachel Everyday: A mobility-support bodysuit tailored for older adults, combining advanced design principles, textile technology, and insights into human movement. Key features include enhanced support for the back, hips, and thighs, aimed at improving user confidence and minimizing the risk of movement-related injuries.
- ToiletSense: An intelligent monitoring device developed to detect abnormal durations of bathroom use, serving as a support tool for caregivers of older adults living independently. The system continuously learns individual behavioral patterns and bathroom entry-exit routines, enabling the identification of unusual events such as extended bathroom stay or potential falls. When anomalies are detected, caregivers are promptly notified through the LINE application.
- MediAlarm: An advanced medication reminder and emergency communication device that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze users’ medication adherence patterns and issue alerts when doses are missed. In addition, the device functions as an emergency assistance tool, allowing users to press a button to immediately transmit a help request to caregivers.
In addition to the four flagship solutions, NSTDA presented further innovations designed to promote healthier living. Among these was the ThaiSook (ไทยสุข) application, a digital health companion created to simplify healthcare management and make the process more engaging for users. Another featured innovation was the salt-measuring fork, developed to encourage healthier eating habits by enabling precise monitoring of sodium intake at each meal, thereby supporting improved dietary practices.
The public had the opportunity to explore these transformative technologies at Hall 2, Better Me Zone, during Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX2025). The exhibition was open until October 5, 2025.
